This palace was built during the 1300s and was restored multiple times.
Heungnyemun Gate (the Second Inner Gate) |
Gyeongjeon, the main throne hall of Gyeongbok Palace |
Be sure to visit the palace between the hours of 10:00 am
till 3:00pm, everyday except Tuesdays to witness the Changing of Guards
Ceremony. This is held in front of the main gate Gwanghwamun gate every hour from 10 am till 3:00 in the afternoon. This is actually a very colourful event. very organized. It was stated last November 2011, that this was the third favourite activity in Seoul and one of the country's tourist attraction.
One good thing is that, these Royal Guards are kind enough
to allow you to take pictures with them, however they will just stand still and
will never smile.
Hope this article helped you! Have tha awesome-est day in
South Korea!
