Singapura ver. 2.0
My last singapore experience before this trip was last 2009, before i entered medschool and this recent experience made me feel like i had never been to singapore. All adventures were new to me. the places-- i haven't been before, eats i haven't eaten, walks i haven't stepped on. thanks to my dear friends-- without you this may not happen.
the original plan was just to get out of the country in time for the release of the PLE result. I just don't want to feel the agony of waiting. i called my super friends, keith, who is now working in SG and Milleth, whom i know have the means to go anywhere. and due to fate and favoring circumstances, the singapore day out was planned. at first it was just an overnight.. but changes happened for the better.
we stayed at Keith's place for the 1st night as i arrived at Singapore airport around nearly midnight. waking up the next morning having no idea what are we gonna do. (unlike my previous Singapore stay with a list of timed iterinaries)
Good morning! Rise and Shine!
this is our taxi ride to our destination, i don't know where, but they told us, we are going to the beach.. but am not prepared for any beach clothes, hence, come what may.. :)
we had our lunch here.. relaxing, but this was March of this year so.. its terribly hot!
i've been to Sentosa before but never walked far enough to reach the beach, this one is particularly named Siloso beach, i dunno why. but definitely an instagram perfect place to take photos.
next on: the sentosa rides.
all i can remember from my 2009 adventure was the cable car, the museum, songs of the sea, the tiger tower.. this was definitely my first time!
the luge.
this specific trekking activity was unexpected, i thought of city tour and the like.. but i never regretted any moment of this.. this is quite an adventure, i haven't done in a long time and specifically i love doing this with my super friends.
we stayed for the second night here at the Loft at Studio M Hotel. this is a nice small space that is just enough for us :)
and before we go out at the city for dinner we decided to take a plunge at the Hotel's fancy pool. i really don't know how to swim but it was so hot that my body wanted to cool off by water pool. oh it was just relaxing.
and dinner was served at this place. it has so many food stalls to choose from and i found it fascinating to actually see Gerry's grill (a Filipino Food Brand) and it was really enjoyed by the locals.
it was nearly midnight and after dinner we still managed to wander around marina bay.. which as how many times you visit singapore, this is still a perfect breathtaking view of the bay.
That was a tiring but one of the bests day of my stay... and the next morning was another surprise adventure..
i dunno what this bridge was called but i was attracted to its colors and design. we were about to go to the bus station, but i cant help but have my photo taken here.
while waiting for our bus.
we were about to have brunch. for booklovers this is haven. as i entered the place, all i can see was books. i almost forgot that we were hungry and about to take brunch
a candid shot taken by jimmel, here is how to take a food selfie. for the record, these were the bests turkey ham sandwiches I've ever tasted.
this particular brunch place is named: The Orange Thimble, at En Hoon St, #01-68 Singapore 160056 store opens around 10 am (if i recalled it right)
my flight back to manila was around 7pm who i should be going around 4. here is to my last minute pasalubong shopping.
Actually, there were lots of pictures i have on my phone, and there were lots of places we've been to in such a short span of time. technically it was just an overnight stay.. but it felt like i have much of Singapore. Milleth and I were so lucky to have friends like Keith and Jimmel, who offered us a Singapura stay that any package tour agencies can't offer. But i cant thank Milleth well enough to hop in my crazy idea of dragging her just to escape the agony of waiting for the physician licensure exam result. woawww! i just have the best friends, tried and tested thru time.
and for the record, this is my first time traveling by plane alone since our meeting place is at Singapore itself.
Keith and Jimmel was generous enough for everything! for the memorable stay and unforgettable activities. words aren't enough. every word i said was an understatement.
