LAS VEGAS: more than just the STRIP

Hola! When we think of Las Vegas, what comes to mind?
Casinos, chips, drinks, nightlife, you name it! Everything is in the STRIP!
Isn't it?

We are actually NOT gamblers and drinkers, but why do we love Las Vegas?
Because, it is MORE than just the STRIP!

Everybody knows the strip. So then this blog post is to show more of places to visit in Vegas aside from what it is best known for.

Get ready, here we go Nevada!

Valley of Fire State Park

First on our list is the Valley of Fire State Park. This is located 16 miles south of Overton, Nevada and is located 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas. If you want to escape the noise of the city, this could be a place for you. Quiet and peaceful. But there are areas with poor cellphone signal reception.

Have you wondered where they put the old huge lights and signs from casinos and restaurants in Las Vegas from back in the day? This museum features the signs from old casinos stored for many, many years.

Red Rock Canyon
it is very unfair to compare it to the majestic Grand Canyon in AZ, they both have their unique beauty. There are some giant Yuccas too for a perfect desert landscape!

Out of State - Sidetrips!
If you have more days to spare, a few nearby parks outside the state of Nevada can be seen too!

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah: approximately 5-6 hours drive from Las Vegas Strip

Los Angeles, California: Approximately 4-5 hours drive from the Strip

Grand Canyon in Arizona: approximately 4-5 hours drive by car from the Strip

--------------------------------------------------

So, that's it! We love going to Vegas since it's only a 4-hour drive from Los Angeles. Whenever we wanted a breath of fresh air from our mundane tasks, we visit the nearest big city out of state. We've been here about 4 times now in a matter of 1 year, and we still love going here, because there are still so much to see!
