New York City: Fast Paced Electric Crowd

The moment I stepped on New York City for the first time, I felt like, I was trapped inside a movie in a fast-forward mode.

All this time, moving to Los Angeles from Manila, I thought time is really fast compared home. Everyone is busy and putting in the hours everyday of their lives. Comparing where I came from where people are more laid back and time is running pretty slow. Which in some way, a good thing, we can appreciate life more. But NYC is much more than that! Everybody is walking and talking fast. Which is pretty much amazing!

This is one of the best cities I visited in the US so far.
(well if you are reading most of our blogs, every city for me is the best. Didn’t I?)
so, let's get it on! come and explore The Big Apple!

We flew from Hollywood Burbank airport to La Guardia Airport. Take note of the time difference. Eastern Standard time is three hours later than Pacific Standard time. It was a long domestic flight. It took us 7 hours, riding United Airlines. We reached NYC around 3 in the afternoon.

Though we were tired and a little jetlagged. We still didn’t put our 1st day to waste.
Unlike LA, we don’t need cars exploring this concrete jungle, you just need to get yourselves familiarize with the subway and your good to go!

Day 1:

Flat iron building
I really wanted to see this in real life as it was really hyped on social media

9/11 Memorial and Museum
Who would forget what happened that day? We were approximately in the 7th Grade when this happened

One world observatory

Broadway shows

This was one great experience!!! We were able to see “Anastasia” right there in Broadway itself!!! I’ve seen a number of theatrical shows in different places, but the one in Broadway is always superb!

Day 2:

We were so tired from the flight and trying to cram up everything the moment we stepped in NYC, we decided to take the second day slowly. Since there were a lot of walking we need to take.

New York Public Library

Who gets excited about libraries? We are!

Times Square

I know, I've said earlier, that we're taking this second day slowly. But still we ended up going back to our hotel late at night! Who can blame us? We lost track of time. Times Square doesn't sleep at all!

Day 3:

Staten Island to see Lady Liberty
We didn't go to Ellis Island for an upclose encounter with Lady Liberty, but we were able to see it from Staten Island Ferry.

A trip to Brooklyn!

Brooklyn is already big in itself to explore by foot. the picture above is the famous Brooklyn bridge. unlike what i see in most social media photos, this place was jam-packed with people.

This place is known as the DUMBO, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY which is known as the "trendy" neighborhood because of its cobblestone streets, high end restaurants and trendy cafes.

Trivia: I've been hearing and reading DUMBO many times before, but its really an acronym which stands for "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass".

Federal Hall National Memorial
This place is where George Washington took the oath as the first President of the United States of America, April 30, 1789

Wall Street
known as the leading financial center of the world, it homes the New York Stock Exchange.

Day 4

So sad, but we need to leave the city to explore a new one. After eating breakfast, we headed straight to Amtrak Terminal to make way for our New Port, Rhode Island trip. (New Port included in the  New York and the New England States Blog)

To sum it up, here is our 3-day NYC trip, tiring, less sleep, but its all worth it! if we'll be given a chance, we'll be happy to visit this city over and over again!

What are your favorite must see places in NYC? We may wanted to visit them someday! leave it in the comments  below!

Hope you enjoyed reading!
