Need to know before going to Disneyland California 2021

Heard the good news? Yes! after more than a year, Disneyland California and Disney California Adventure finally re-opened!

Excited? here's what you need to know before you go.

May is my birthday month. When my husband told me we're going to Disneyland, I was adamant. Because since the news of reopening, I was looking at their calendar often, and I find it difficult to find a slot for Disneyland in the month of May even until June.

I never believed him until I saw him packing our bags and sending me an email with our park reservations and tickets with our names on it!!!!

So, with all said, finally I did believe my husband when he told me "WE ARE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!"

I was singing/humming "For the first time in Forever" as I enter the gates! (wink wink)

What you need to know?

You need to buy tickets
(Duh?) Which is always the case, but this time, you can't be able to buy it from the kiosk in front of the park. All should be done online.

Plus, you need to have Park Reservations.
Alongside the tickets, you should have park reservations as the number of people inside the park is limited.

With those two above mentioned, I find it hard to find available dates for Disneyland, however if you wanted to buy park hopper, Disney California Adventure has plenty of slots as the first park.

INSIDE THE PARK

As with all establishments, because of COVID-19 pandemic, screening is done at the gate, even before they check your bags.

Plenty of hand sanitizers and wash stations all over the park.

and then you're all set.

Food. You must order through the app. (I forgot to mention that the DISNEYLAND APP is a must to enjoy most of the park.) There are no que for food. All should be done through the app, pay through the app and they will notify you when your food is ready.

There are plenty of designated seats for dining, eating, drinking or for just a breather. (which means you need to put your masks on while walking, roaming around and during the rides, because there are designated places where you can safely take them off).

Plus, they have staffs assigned to wipe tables and chairs with disinfectant. Everywhere feels clean!

Dining has enhanced healthy and safety measures in place.

Pros and Cons

CONS
No Fast Pass, character meet and greet and autographs.
And as of the moment, they are only open to California Residents. You may need to show proof of residence as you enter the park.

PROS

Sleeping Beauty's Castle 2021

Sleeping Beauty's Castle 2018

As you can see, it is now possible to go around the park without bumping into someone. The number of people was significantly reduced. The picture above is just a proof of it. This is Sleeping Beauty's castle and there are always (ALWAYS!) so many people here, but now, they are only a handful.

Comparing the photo taken from 2018 with lots of people and the one taken after the reopening (2021). Physical Distancing is existent all throughout the park!

Toontown 2018

Waiting for a ride is almost 5 minutes to none. This is by far the Disney trip we had that we were able to ride as much as we can! The only ride that had 30 minute wait was the Star Wars: Millennium Falcon- Smugglers Run.

Aside from that, you have the whole boat, cart, ride, plane all by yourself.

Overall, the experience was not only good! But GREAT!!

Are you excited to feel the magic again?
